AEGIS Europe brings together nearly 30 European associations representing a broad variety of industries including traditional industries, consumer branches, SMEs and renewable energy sectors, accounting for more than €500 billion in annual turnover and millions of jobs across the EU. This industry alliance, made up of leaders in sustainable manufacturing and social and environmental responsibility, is committed to European manufacturing as the fundamental driver of innovation, growth and jobs in Europe.

Chinese enterprises dump more products into Europe’s open market than any other country in the world. Indeed, over 60% of all the EU's anti-dumping measures are against China.

The enormous EU-China trade deficit grows every year. China has been able to dramatically increase exports to Europe by an average of over 11% per year over the past fifteen years, rising from €75 billion in value in 2000 to €360 billion in 2015. Europe’s trade relationship with China is not balanced and is made worse by dumping.

It is time for Brussels to realise that “business as usual” is no longer an option; that citizens across the continent are disenchanted, and that they are right to be; that “eurosceptic,” or “problematic” countries cannot simply be dismissed when their internal politics turn nasty. In the wake of the British referendum, there has to be some collective soul-searching in the corridors of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers and the European Court of Justice.

Journalistic objectivity is a significant principle of journalistic professionalism. Journalistic objectivity can refer to fairness, disinterestedness, factuality, and nonpartisanship, but most often encompasses all of these qualities.

The “revolving door” – which appears to link the EU institutions directly to the private sector, allowing employees to move almost effortlessly between the two – is at the heart of the close relationship between the EU institutions and Brussels’ lobby industry. A number of former European Commissioners have gone through the revolving door; that is they have moved straight from public office into lobbying jobs. This raised serious questions about potential conflicts of interest.

With China, Russia, and four Central Asian states – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan – as its founding members, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is one of the world's biggest regional organisations in terms of population represented. To date, the SCO has largely concentrated on regional non-traditional security governance and specifically its fight against regional terrorism, ethnic separatism and religious extremism.
